Howard Thomson and I were devastated to receive the news that our fellow candidate in the Surrey Heath Borough Council election for Frimley Green, Karen Campion, had suddenly and unexpectedly passed away.

I knew Karen for 20 years. She was always warm, feisty, and great company.

Her passing came as a complete shock to all of us, including her family, her friends, and her doctors. Karen was a glass-half-full person to the end. She put herself forward knowing there was some uncertainty over her future health, but Karen was not the sort of person to let ‘what if?’ get in the way of ‘what could be’.

That’s just one reason why she would have been a fantastic Councillor for Frimley Green. As Cllr Paul Deach put it, “Karen is an exciting candidate who has public service running through her DNA.”

The law requires that in these circumstances, the 4th May election does not take place. The election will be re-arranged for sometime in June.

Thanks for the memories Karen. We will remember you fondly forever.

Love Stuart, Inta, Kris, Gabby, Krista.

P.S. Whilst there will be no Councillors in Frimley Green from 5th May until the postponed election takes place, I will do my best to support residents and can be contacted at stuart@stuartblack.uk or 07562 389106.
