Many thanks to the voters of Frimley Green who elected me in the by-election 14th October 2021.

The final count was tight, with the result that I won with 19 votes more than Jacques Olmo, a deservedly popular candidate. Thanks to Jacques and the Labour candidate Christine Richards for their commitment to the democratic process by putting themselves forwards as candidates.

As one of my friends observed during the campaign, without people willing to stand in elections there would be no democracy.

This result represented a “20% swing” and a 59% increase in the number of votes the Conservative candidates attracted in the 2019 Borough By-Elections. A quite remarkable result given the challenges faced by national Government:

I was elected to serve all of the electorate and their families too young to vote. Other the next few months I hope to get to know some of you better.

It is hard to keep in touch with an electorate of more than 5,000 by knocking on doors, so if you haven’t already, please sign-up to my mailing list here so I can keep in touch directly. And if there is anything you think I might be able to help you with, please don’t hesitate to get in contact.

Stuart Black, Frimley Green, October 2021.
